Our Story

Power was inspired by the lack of excellent roasted coffee within Jerusalem. With its awesome steampunk vibe and amazing aroma, it is the perfect location for working, reading a book, spending time with friends or chatting with our amazing baristas.
Our coffee is roasted fresh daily, ground per cup and served with a huge amount of love.
We are all about the taste, flavor, vibe and not to forget – the music.

Stephanie and Brandon, the owners made aliyah from Cape Town, South Africa in 2016 with their four children to Efrat, Gush Etzion. With their extensive knowledge of the hospitality industry, they decided to open Power Coffeeworks, an anglo orientated coffee roastery in Machane Yehuda Shuk. Five years later, Power is exactly what they wanted it to be. Despite the struggles of starting a new business in a new country, Stephanie and Brandon took the coffee culture of Jerusalem to a whole new level. After three more children, Covid19 and a whole load of drama. Power coffeeworks has grown to be the number one location in Jerusalem for the best cup of coffee and an unbelievable section of coffee beans.

A rich, dark, coffee drinker's brew. Highly recommended.

Best coffe you can taste all around the country. There is continous excitement around "specialty coffee", but (for me!) their taste is far behind this powerful, tasty and fruity blend. It wins all. Thank you for this lovely blend, it is the best valued coffe for me. Wish for more fruity blends 🙂

I like it. Strong. Dark. Overtones of chocolate and mist.

Let's first address the 800 pound gorilla on the coffee bar. Yes, this is coffee harvested by Black and Brown people mostly for the enjoyment of White people. That's a fact whether you embrace it or cringe at it. There. So now that that's said, lets push aside feelings of guilt or resentment to focus on the coffee. To be honest, Powerworks was out of my normal go-to, Columbian Dark Roast. So admittedly, it was not my first choice to go Ethiopian. Not that my preference was based on either racism or reverse racism -- I just like Columbian Dark. However, the Ethiopian Roast was not objectionable. There was an almost layered consistency of blended notes of burnt toast, cookie crust, and fresh minted leather combining for a serious cup of coffee. I would recommend drinking black with a fly-by of real cream so as not to mask the flavor with cloying sweetness. I like a bold cup of coffee and it was a good wake up call to...er..wake up. I do still long for my Medellin-based Columbian cartel roast. But in the meantime, keeping some Ethiopian on hand is not a bad choice if you want to start the day on the right foot.
