A little about us

Power Coffeeworks was founded by Stephanie and Brandon Treger, a couple originally from Cape Town, South Africa. They made aliyah (immigrated to Israel) in 2016 with their family and eventually settled in Efrat, Gush Etzion before launching the café in Jerusalem’s Machane Yehuda Market. They have 8 children.

Trying to find a income revenue they realized that there was a lack of freshly roasted coffee in the Jerusalem area and coming from a strong hospitality industry background opening a cafe was the way to go. Brandon dreamed of creating a coffee space where people could enjoy excellent coffee, meet others, and hang out comfortably ,a sort of community hub rooted in social connection as much as in coffee culture.

Stephanie's father is a famous restauranter in South Africa known for his "Dogs bollocks" burgers and "Pizza warehouse" pizza restaurants.

Initially focusing on roasting fresh beans daily and serving them with care, they emphasized quality and personal engagement with customers.

Over time, Power Coffeeworks grew in reputation, even through challenges like navigating Israeli bureaucracy and later the COVID-19 pandemic and then War

Despite these hurdles, the café has become a well-regarded spot in Jerusalem’s coffee scene, known for its coffee quality, friendly service, and community vibe.

The coffee shop has since moved from Agripas to the famous Yaffo street which is a larger space and more popular location for coffee shop workers and residents.
